With this collection we created a baseball team to go through spring training and take our talents all the way through the championship. Growing up, both Chad and Nick played baseball at an early age. We chose the lion as our mascot as the combination of Chad and Nick have been called the Twin Lions (deriving from Nick being a Gemini and Chad being a Leo). We also felt that the Lion is powerful symbol of both strength and leadership. The Lion mascot was created with help from our good friend, Anderson Bluu, and we took his original drawings tweaked them a bit to create our team's logo. The team colors we chosen by Chad for his love of the black/orange/grey color combination. With the designs on the items, we wanted to create both a modern look and feel, but also drawing inspiration from the golden era of baseball. This team was designed to stand the test of time.
The collection includes 3 different color baseball jerseys (100% polyester in black, grey and orange), 2 T-shirts (100% ringspun cotton in heather grey with black and orange printing and orange with black printing), a lightweight windbreaker style jacket (black with white printing), a snapback hat (heather grey with white/black/orange logo embroidered on the center front), a FlexFit style (black with SG on the front in orange and white embroidery), a raglan style shirt (heather grey chest with black sleeves) and a women's raglan style shirt (heather grey chest with black sleeves).
We enjoy that the designs have the versatility to be worn in spring training, through out the season or during the championship series. They can be worn alone or layered. Some of the added features on each of our designs include a tagless printed label on the inside of the T-shirts and raglans, screen printed Smooth Gear logo on the left sleeve of the T-shirts, a woven label sewn on the bottom/left hem of the T-shirts and raglans, woven labels with size labels on the interior of the baseball jerseys, woven labels on the lower left front of the jerseys and our Lion mascot logo on the left sleeve of the jerseys. All of our screen printed items are printed in our very own in house print shop. All of the sewn on labels and patches were sewn on in our shop's sewing room. We take pride in the quality of all of our printing and embroidery and only use the best products to create our line.
With this collection we wanted all of our teammates to enjoy the style of the game that we grew up playing. We wanted this line to have the ability to be worn in the heat of play and also in the off season.
